Love was in the air on 29 January when ONJ patient Dale and his partner Rhys tied the knot! 💚
While in remission with leukemia Dale had experienced life-threatening complications, motivating this long-overdue wedding.
Rhys explained, "The team at ONJ managed to get him to a point where he could go on day release. We got some of our closest friends in a limo, and all went to the venue and married in front of 35 of our family and friends. Some of his nurses even decorated his room at the hospital for when he returned later that evening."
Dale and Rhys asked their guests to donate to the ONJ Centre instead of giving them gifts.
"The ONJ has been our second home for quite some time. The staff are sensational and have gone above and beyond in caring for Dale and our little family. So we decided the best thing people could do was support the ward that has supported us."
Congratulations and thank you, Dale and Rhys! 💍 👏
